Robert Pierson

(1911-1989). Pastor, evangelist, missionary, author, administrator, president of the General Conference. He was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, into the family of Will and Mabel Pierson. His mother was a devout Seventh-day Adventist. His father never interfered in the spiritual training of the children, but because of distance, attendance at church was sporadic. When he was in his teens, the family moved to Florida, where Robert attended high school and met Dollis Mae Smith, whom he later married. During the terminal illness of his mother Robert yielded his heart entirely to the Lord and determined to prepare for service. Dollis had been converted through Robert’s sister.
